Smooth soulful authenticity combined with Country grit is the hallmark sound of Greg Sterling’s voice. He’s a Montana horseman turned hardworking offshore oil rigger who sings about love and life.
In the song Tiki Bar, Greg Sterling joins forces with 2019 Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame inductee Kostas, to write about a hideaway bar in the Florida Keys. But before you listen, like the song says “leave your troubles behind” as you take this provocative Country rocker for a spin.
A far cry from beach bars and tiki huts, Greg grew up wrangling horses and trick roping with his famous horse, Renegade, in Great Falls, Montana. As a performing rodeo cowboy, Greg found inspiration from singing legend George Strait and the classic Outlaw Country sounds of Cash, Jennings, and Jones. Each of these influences can be found in his writing and heard in his voice.
Country Music brought Greg to Nashville and he is currently working on a project with legendary songwriter Kostas who has a collection of #1’s, and celebrated acclaim crossing genres from Dwight Yoakam and Marty Stuart to Emmylou Harris and Etta James. Kostas heard a unique and identifiable sound in Greg’s voice. Together they are working on a project that combines the best of today’s Country sounds with the classic soul of yesterday. There is nothing quite like hearing new Country with grounded Country roots.
